Solved Shrink drive

Im going shrink drive C in my PC But Windows does not allow me to select the desired volume.
plz help me

What I need is the following and please use the procedure as written, thanks.

HOW TO POST A SNAPSHOT OF DISK MANAGEMENT DISPLAY
Run disk management:
WIN | type DISKMGMT.MSC | ENTER
WIN=key with Microsoft logo on top.


Maximize the output of Disk Management:
ALT-Spacebar key combo | X key (selects Maximize) |
Drag the field separators (such as between Status and Capacity) to show entire field.


Make a snapshot:
WIN | type SNIPPING | ENTER | New
Drag the cursor around the area you want to snip.
File | Save as | select save location and name | Save


Post the snapshot:
Post a File or Screenshot in Seven Forums

my os drive is 102400MB.i want it shrink to 30G but Windows does not allow me to select less than 48749MB

"You can not shrink volume beyound the point where any unmovable files are located".. please read text in your screen shot, it means that using windows 7 shrink function you can not shrink more unless you defragment/disable unmovable files..
or you can use 3rd party disk tool to resize volume.

You will be able to shrink past what was shown, but the correct answer for you requires that snapshot and in the very same post the answers to the questions I posed.

I do not understand what you mean Because i Make a snapshot by the same method in post 2 .

Use free Partition Wizard bootable CD to Shrink C as much as you want, then create a new NTFS partition there or resize your data partition into the space. Partition Wizard Move/Resize Partition Video Help.

You appear to have no System partition. Your Recovery partition is marked Active but should also have the System label showing it is where the boot files are installed. Have you done repairs on the PC since receiving it? Run a few Startup Repairs now to see if it sorts out.

Third party disk tools are not part of Windows and must be downloaded.

The best one is Partition Wizard bootable disc.

Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online

Burn it to a disc.

It's more flexible than Disk Management and should allow you to shrink more.
