This is what I've tried sofar. I used Disk Management in Device Manager & Command Prompt run as Admin., & got nearly a split result each time i.e. 700gb each. Will try your link. Any tips would be appreciated.

That's not surprising. Windows doesn't like to move certain files, which can prevent you from shrinking as much as you like.
Partition Wizard bootable disk is the tool to use. It's quite self-explanatory, but there is a tutorial on this site for it.
