Is it possible to edit (disable) options in the "Shut down" dialog in Win7 and Win8 ?

Win-7
Switch User, Log Off, Restart, Sleep, Hibernate, Shut Down
Win-8
Switch User, Sign Out, Sleep, Shut Down, Restart

An unashamed ludite ... how I long for the days of the three choices in WinXP ... when life was simpler
Shut Down, Restart, Cancel
Alt+F4 > U ... or... R ...or... C

Thank you :)

You'd turn them off under Sleep in your Power Options plan Advanced Settings.

However have you tried the Hibernate function perfected in Win7? It's really a convenience for being able to leave the PC with your work open and not have to give a second thought to whether you're coming back in 20 minutes or 20 days. Your work is saved to HD then the PC powers down, but it starts up much faster - that feature alone makes it preferable to me.

So I'd first give a try with Sleep set to around 30 and Hibernate set to 45-90 then see if you grow to like it. I see you like to learn so thought you might like to know about this modern feature which is perfected in Win7.
