'Shut Down' Missing in Task Manager?

Hopefully a simple (not dumb) question: Where, exactly, is the 'Shut Down' button/option in Task Manager?

Any logic in removing the option for every Windows user's most frequently used 'Task'?

And, yes I know there's still Ctl+Alt+Delete.

This became a non-trivial issue when opening Media Center blacked out my whole desktop, with only a white cursor showing. Normal windows commands were inaccessible, since I couldn't access Start menu or Task Bar functions; only selecting another program via "Bring to Front" in Task Manager returned control.

Appreciate any insights

Hi and welcome

Good Question. I had the same problem with MC and had to control-alt-del to bring up the screen with task manager on it.

No shutdown in task manager, bummer

I thought that was show desktop Dwarf not a shut down command, I usually use the shut down that shows when clicking the Start Orb I've never used one from the Task Manager.

It is, Joan, but on the normal desktop. When you press Ctrl Alt Delete, it is on that screen.

As I had mentioned, "And, yes I know there's still Ctl+Alt+Delete."

There is no button, but you can start a new task, then type shutdown. You can use switches, like -s (to shutdown the computer), -r (to restart), -l (log off a user), etc.
