Solved Shut off during update, screen doesnt work at all

A friend of mine has shut down his pc during an update, now the screen wont work at all, i tried plugging it into the tv to see if it worked but nothing has worked

Its window 7 and a hp (pavillion dv6 ?)

Try this : Press f8 when starting the computer - then do a system restore before you shut off the system when doing a update ...

Well, the screen was totally blank, nothing was on it, so i couldnt do any system restores, anyhow, i solved it by having the battery out for like 1 minute , it reseted the bios and everything went back to normal, thanks for replies tho
