Hello everyone!

Some time ago I installed Windows 7 32bit on my tablet (Lenovo X60t) and I have an overly sensitive shutdown button which drives me crazy!
I am used to clicking on the start button, keeping the mouse button pressed down, moving the cursor over a program (icon) I want to start and finally releasing the mouse button (instead of click-release on start button and second click-release on the program icon). This works very well on all Windows machines I stumbled over.

On my X60t though the shutdown button is overly sensitive and it will react instantly whenever I touch it with the cursor, even though I don't release the mouse button to perform an action! If that was too confusing: Left click on start button with mouse button held down, move cursor over shutdown button => Windows will shutdown instantly!

Unfortunately my tablet is the only computer behaving like this and I have no idea what could cause that behaviour. I already de-installed any "Windows tablet" options but it didn't help :(

Welcome Mseitz to the windows 7 forums.

One area that you might take a look at is in control panel mouse and check the sensitivity settings and the double click speed.

I have dos 6.22, wfwg 3.11, win98, 2000 and xp VHD's available for testing. MS's Virtual PC works great.
I checked my settings and they are the same as on my other computers. And since I don't double click anything this should not even affect the shutdown button behaviour ...

What Rich meant is if double click speed is set too fast, you can do it with a single touch without realizing it.
Go to Control Panel\Folder Options and make sure it is set to open with a double click or single and change it to see if that helps.

Well, I actually understood what he meant. Double click speed is set one position in direction to "fast" from the middle of the slider. This is the default setting I have on all my computers and laptops. Changing the setting doesn't change the odd behaviour of my shutdown button :(
