Hello!

Thanks for posting this over here for me!

Since this is a recent problem, my first recommendation would be a System Restore: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

Hopefully this will quickly and easily solve the problem, as the manual solutions may turn out to be a bit time consuming.

Right, if that fails, I need you to try for me a few solutions from this thread. :) side by side configuration - Vista Forums

Did you manage to install all of the VC++ Runtimes? Did any of them error out?

Then, please follow this post:

STEP ONE:

Right, please run steps 1, 2A, 3 (about 15 minutes), 4, 5, and then Step 1 from the top yellow box, but only follow this last one if Integrity Violations were found. Please upload the new sfcdetails.txt from your Desktop. System Files - SFC Command

STEP TWO:

This step will be more helpful, but is more complex.

1: Get three different programs which all generate this error message lined up ready to run.

2: Open an elevated Command Prompt. Elevated Command Prompt

3: Type sxstrace trace -logfile:sxstrace.etl into the Command Prompt window, and press enter ONCE! Set it continue to log!

4: Start the first program. Let it generate the error message, and OK out of the error message. Once the program has closed, start the next program. Once this one has closed, start the last one. Make sure that all three generate an error. I need you to make absolutely sure that you do not run programs that work while logging!

5: Go back to the Command Prompt and press enter again to end the logging.

6: Type sxstrace parse -logfile:sxstrace.etl -outfile:%userprofile%\Desktop\sxstrace.txt and press enter.

Upload the file sxstrace.txt from your Desktop.

Please make sure to include both sfcdetails.txt, and sxstrace.txt in your next post.

The very best of luck!

Richard

I forgot to mention that i already tried a system restore.
Didnt work :(

I tried the C++ things aswell, I think i have them all installed.
Is there a place where i can look if theyre all installed? (the links you are giving is x86, this is 32 bits right? i have 64 bits windows).

What do you want me to try first? your topic or your bottom quote?

thanks

I get that same side side error for the game Entropia Universe on my 64 bit system , this happens because the game was written or the loader was written using C++ 2005

It is fixed quite simply by installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) as mentioned by niemero :ditto:

although you are using 64 bit it is vital you use the x86 version (vcredist_x86.exe) of C++ as per the link :geek:

I tried the C++ like i said.. but i did only the 64 bits ones.. so i will install them all now(x86) and reboot and try again.. ill keep u updated in 5 minuts

Hello!

You need the 64bit ones. Really sorry for posting the wrong ones. These contain the 32bit things which are required:

Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64)
Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64
Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64)
Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

However, I had a look at your Event Viewer, and you have some less common Side by Side causes. I had a quick look this morning, and now arrived at the work place and can't view the pictures! You had a x86/x64 CommonControl conflict, very nasty to fix indeed, and a manifest looking for a non-existant/incorrect versioned file. Again, nasty to fix. We either need to get the file, get a newer file, or possibly recondition the manifest.

Hello!

Really sorry for the delay, but excellent work again! This canned speech is courtesy of Jacee. Give the credit entirely to her!

Please download VEW by Vino Rosso http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe from here and save it to your Desktop.

Double click it to start it. Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right click the file and select Run as administrator and click Continue or Allow at the User Account Control Prompt.

Click the check boxes next to Application and System located under Select log to query on the upper left

Under Select type to list on the right click the boxes next to Critical, Error and Warning and Information.

Under Number or date of events select Number of events and type 20 in the box next to 1 to 20 and click Run

Summary: Check all six check boxes, choose a number of reports, and set it to 20.

Once it finishes it will display a log file in notepad. Ideally, upload it, but pasting it between CODE tags is also fine.

The very best of luck!

Richard

Hello!

I am really, really sorry for the delay. As much as I strive against it, I had an administrative error. Thanks for the PM. What install disks do you happen to have lying around (it isn't game over quite yet though)

Thanks!
