Hi sinbin :)

That may work, also if your Motherboard etc is supported try SpeedFan - Freeware its a very handy application.

personally I like to try and stay away from using the motherboard fan headers whenever possible ( cuts down on the power used directly off the motherboard.
However you appear to have an adequet power supply so it's worth a try, like Ciara posted speed Fan may be of some help.

I also dont like using mobo headers.will it affect my mobo.
Anyhow i used the sys fan header on mobo now the the fan is much leass noisy seems to be spinning at 1000rpm rather than 2000rpm which drives u insne!.
In bios i have system fan control enabled which i think controls the speed of the side fan on that mobo header.thanks for help

Power draw for one case fan is minimal and won't hurt a thing.

Where trouble starts is people try using a Y-connector and running two case fans off the case fan header.
That is a no-no!

I just posted this on a previous post.., Try to get anti vibration fan screws. they come in handy, they will reduce any sound coming because of vibration of the fan.

ah my fan sits in a clip case if you know what i mean was allready on side of case!
But i tell you 2000 rpm drives me nuts!could not deal with it atall like a jet is taken off near my left ear.so happy its spinning at 1100-13000 max under bios control ;;)

But i have 3 case fans now at 120mm each, and 1 cpu fan ,alsp 1 120mm psu fan all spinning and my system is very quiet ...well happy

Correct, that won't be an issue. In the end though as you add additional cooling solutions I would try to run as much off of the PSU as possible and keep the mobo power for it's processes. Modular PSU cables help to enhance this and of course minimize clutter.

But if you don't power the fan from a motherboard header, there i no chance of controlling the speed with a 3 pin (non PWM) fan based on the CPU temperature.

With a PWM fan (4-pin), there are adapters such that you can get power for multiple fans from a PS molex connector, but the speed control from a 4-pin MB header.

Why would the pins be there for cpu fan and system fan if they cant be used ?

Not a bit.
If it did they would not put the plugs for the fans on the motherboard to begin with. ;) :D

Couldn't agree more. As mentioned in a reply elsewhere - you don't want to run more than one fan off a single header using a Y cable.

I say buy quiet fans and run them wide open. If this isn't possible then run them off a quality fan controller off the PSU.

I like my PWM CPU and my case fans controlled by the processor temperature. They are very quiet most of the time and only noticeable when there is heavy CPU demand.

:D

Seriously, I think that one or the other is a good option depending on your use.

Done some research and the mobo sys fan has power going to it regardless if a fan is connected.
It says its better to have a fan connected to release the power that stops at the pins,
Kinda like have a live wire with no outlet!more chance of a short e.t,c

I think the idea that not connecting it give the other parts more power is flawed,as they get what ever they need regardless.
If you use a splitter where your running 2 fans of one pin, then i cans ee that pin becoming strained,But thats the only reason i can think of why not tot use the pins
good logic or bad?
