Am looking at fitting a “silent card” to my new build – i5 2500 and Gigabyte GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 to see if I can get that little extra on top of the onboard stuff. Scotty Mueller is keen on these silents as they are quite and I am going to fit two 120 fans to the side of the Coolermaster Centurion II anyway (nice case stacks of air flow vents) What do you graphics fellows reckon re this card? (not savvy re this stuff much myself but the memory looked good) http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_877&products_id=16655

It really depends on your budget, i assume by the link that you really dont want to spend more then 100. Is this going to be used for gaming at all? if so i would get something like the Gigabyte Radeon 5770 Silent Cell 1GB or, if its just for general use, watching movies etc something like the Gigabyte Radeon HD5450 1GB Silent Cell should be fine. It all depends on what you plan on doing with it, and your budget. Though you cant go past PCCG when buying it.

Yep the graphics are good I just womdered if the silent card would probably give me more colours a bit more adjustment or whatever etc.
I don't know because it's my first build am probably being a overly experimentative / impetuous bit like when you get your first bike really you just want to see what you can do with it.

You should have no problems with the HD5450. ignatzatsonic was right when he said that you could just run the on board GPU and that would suffice. But like you said its your new rig! There is nothing wrong with trying a few new things out. Let us know how you go with the GPU install.
