I was working desktop support at a hospital last year. I received a ticket from a nursing station, as there computer had a problem.

So I go to the nursing station, right when I show up on of the nurses was working on the computer, pulling up a x-ray or something. Suddenly the computer fans kicked in high gear, it was humming quite loud..then it "coughed" a dust ball out of the exhaust fan. The nurse freaked out, jumped up and yanked the power cord saying "it's going to blow up".

I tried to remain calm, and asked the nurse, if a patient goes into a code blue, do you yank life support or work with it?

She said, what do you mean?

I replied, your computer is only suffering from and electronic cold, it's congested. I opened it up, cleaned out what must have been years of dust.

Then I told her it's good now. After that they were calling me for every little problem :roflmao: even their cellphones.

For some reason this thread brought back that memory
