simple question regarding file size of copied and paste file

If you right click properties of both the paste file and original file and compare both of the file size shown there, if both are the same does it mean that the paste file is properly copy over?

Did you copy/paste the file itself or just its contents?

If you did copy/paste the file itself it's the same as a "file copy". If there is an error it's reported on the screen! There are many checking mechanisms on disk like CRC check for example (google yourself). And drive firmware itself can check if write was succesfull.

You have to trust win7 or the program that copies.... you can't check if 1000's of files are copied succesfull manually.

What do you mean? If you select the file then copy paste, does that mean you have copy/paste the file or content?

From the properties, there is file size and file size on disk. Just wondering if the file size for both the original file and paste file have the exact same size there does it mean the file have been copy/paste properly or is CRC and third party software the only way you can only check it?

select the file then copy then paste: You copied the file itself. It's just like you created a new file with the same name and gave it the same contents.

file size is the same for a copied file. "file size on disk" can differ (it depends on th disk cluster size). But most of the time the disk cluster size is 4KB.

CRC checking goes automatically.

But even if you proved they're the same now. ...... They can be different in a split second. Maybe a virus just replaces a few bytes for example.
