I have windows 7 64 bit home premium.
I just got the Sims 3 and it is crashing in the middle of installation. It gives me the BSOD that says an error has been detected and it is restarting to prevent damage. Then it does a physical memory dump.
Then it restarts and as soon as I run the CD (doesnt even make it to installation screens). I get the BSOD with the same message.

I have updated to run a SP1, and done all recommended and optional updates to windows 7.
I have run a system requirements check with EA Games website, and my laptop does meet all the requirements for the game to run.

Help?

x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64
- the original installed OS on the system? yes the original OS is still on this system

- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)? around a year old
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) I have not reinstalled, so about a year

I downloaded, unzipped, went to setup and it says my system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the software.

Uninstall Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%. As they are a known cause of BSOD w/ Win 7. Once you're done, use this SPTD uninstaller: DuplexSecure - Downloads
