Skype and Hangouts kill my machine

I don't mean they lock it up or blue screen it. They make it suddenly go from up and running, fans blowing, processes and services humming along, to dead. Screen black, fans silent. No BSOD, no shutdown sequence, no reboot.

And Event Log Viewer isn't working, even though I can see the service is set to run automatically. I did run dm log collector and the zip file is attached below. I would be very grateful for any attention or assistance with this because I use videochat to keep in contact with my family.
