Skype, spotify, shockwave player not responding

I recently just activated my version of Windows 7. Before I did this, everything worked fine.

Now that it is activated Skype, Spotify and even Shockwave player do not respond.

In Skype I can start to call someone but then it freezes and keeps on ringing. I've contacted Skype and they don't seem to be able to help.

I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling all of these applications. But the same thing happens; the screen freezes and I have to use task manager in order to stop the applications.

I've checked my device drivers for updates but all of them seem to be running the latest versions.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi Thomas, Welcome to SF,

Try to reboot the system in Selective Startup make sure your Network card has the lastest frivers installed.

I am having similiar issues with Skype and Shockwave.. Most of the time I am able to watch videos and such, but randomly they will stop working.. my browser will freeze and tell me that the shockwave pulg in is inresponsive. hand in hand skype will stop esponging at the same time. freezing, not letting me send messages. I close out of skype and try to re open, and it wont let me saying that i am already signed in on this computer.. Its very frusterating! Help me!
