Media Player not responding to global recording change

I have been trying to learn how to record audio cds that can be added to later. My instructions were to change the global setting in properties of the CD drive. I did that. I actually unchecked both, single session and multi session, but my windows media player is still "finalizing' the disc. I have even restarted my computer, but the player continues to repeat the process. Can anyone help me.

I am a choir director, and want to be able make audio cd's for my singers, but also want to make good use of my CD-R discs.
