Skype won't install

Hi,

I got an Acer Aspire One Happy Netbook yesterday and ever since been trying to install skype. The installation gets to around 30% and then goes back to 0% each time I have tried this. Can anyone help me please? My operating system is Windows 7 Starter - 32 bit.

I've also just tried skypesetupfull.exe but been given the error message that is it not a valid win32 application?

I would delete the content of your temp directory, delete the installers, redownload, and try again.

As well as WebMattR's advice some other things come to mind..

* Are you running the installation as Administrator?

* Maybe the downloaded setup file is corrupted. Delete it and download again.

* Make sure you are not running any other applications (browser, email, etc.) during the attempted install.

* Try disabling any security suite, anti-virus or anti-spyware during the install.
