Sleep mode killed my PC?

Hi,

I've installed Windows 7 RC 7100 x64 on a couple of PC's before without problems (except sleep mode has never worked, so I disabled it immediately after installation on all occasions). Now I've installed it on my own system (see my specs), which has been running Windows XP SP2 x86 up to now, and forgot to disable sleep mode this time. I left the PC running overnight and somebody unfamiliar with PC's found it in sleeping mode, unable to wake it up with keyboard/mouse. Several hours later I returned to find the PC in this sleeping mode, producing a clicking sound, hence I turned it off immediately. After a couple of hours I turned it back on and it would still produce the clicking sound and send no signal to monitor. I opened the case while it was doing that and noticed the PC basically turned into a christmas tree inside. Three lights on the videocard were blinking (D1601, D1602 & D1603) and two were lighting on the motherboard (MD2 & GD2). I've looked these up with following result:

D1601: Red LED On, shows critical temperature fault
D1602: Red LED On, shows External power connector A was removed
D1603: Red LED On, shows External power connector B was removed

MD2: excessive overvoltage on memory
GD2: excessive overvoltage on PCIe

So I now wonder: Has my PC fried? (power supply or motherboard only I hope) or is it just locked in some state due to the failing wake up from sleep mode? Bottomline: How do I go on about fixing it?

Thanks.

Have you tried switching it off at the wall for a few minutes and trying again?

I will try this now, in combination with flashing the BIOS fully. Will get back afterwards on that.

Seems like I just needed to flash the BIOS fully. All warning lights are gone and booting seems to work fine. Thanks for the help.
