Sleep mode not working

OK so I have a home built PC and the sleep has never worked... when i installed win 7 guess the drivers for the logitec keyboard and mouse were not installed so it actually started sleeping. but i didnt know this and installed the drivers for lx710 logitec keyboard and mouse. and it stopped sleeping.... so i tried to do anotherinstall of win 7 because i REALLY want my comp to start sleeping again, b/c i have gone thru a LOTTA hassletrying to figure this out. does anyone have any suggustions

My comp monitors will shut off , and the cpu will try and shut down but as soon as it starts to power down it wakes up but the monitors will stay off... very frusterating
