SLI with 2 different cards same GPU

I have two 9500GT video cards one id Evga and one is BFG they are both 1GB DDR2. I have looked into it but you experts will know. I think it's possible to set up a crossfire configuration. It might not be worth doing but i would mostly do it for fun and to see if I can get it working. My current mobo supports it and would like to play with it.

Is it possible with the same GPU but different companies and possibly slightly different specs on the rest of the card? I thought if it the same GPU you could do it.

Also you might know if I can make a USB install flash drive with professional and use it to install home premium or ultimate as long as I have the licence keys?

First off they are Nvidia cards so crossfire is out of the question. Your wanting to setup SLI and yes as long as they are the same GPU it cesn't matter who made the card. As far as having slightly different specs. If the cards run at different clock speeds then SLI will run both cards at the lower clock speed. 2nd question you can only install the OS that is on the drive as Home premium and Ultimate have different specs. Sorry, I was tired. I meant SLI. I am going to try it out....the two cards are identical as far as I can tell. Just made by two companies. Thanks

I think you're right. Thats my own thread, it does not answer my question although the answer is here somewhere. I will search more for it. I think it has to be the same version of Windows to make a USB install key. Maybe the tutorial says it on th notes. I will check there.

yes SLI is possible with those cards....

the brands wont matter as long as the GPU core is the same. , but ...''mem/shader/core'' clocks will default to whichever cards is slower.
