SLOW boot -10 plus minutes after a Factory Restore and Windows Update

Hello, and thanks in advance for reading my post and hopefully giving me suggestions to fix my problem. I have searched many posts here and elsewhere and can’t seem to find the solution. My laptop (Acer Aspire, 64 bit, W7 Home Premium, 4GB RAM) was taking almost 20-30 minutes to load so I backed up data, which luckily wasn’t a lot, and restored it to factory settings. This worked GREAT and I felt like I actually had my computer back. It would always work fine after the slow boot but I was happy to have a speedy boot up.

So after a few normal program installs, antivirus-Java-etc, put my music and docs back on, and a Windows update it started to take 10+ minutes to boot up like a day after restoring it. Once it did boot up it was fine and ran smooth. I had originally put Comodo AV on it and switched it to Avast last night to see if that was a problem, and also uninstalled Java, Windows Live stuff that came with the initial install I guess and a few other useless programs (McAfee trial, etc).

Here are the other steps I tried:

In startup unchecked all except AV

Ran Soludo (It says 95% of boot lag is system and must have stuff)

Updated Audio driver

Ran CCleaner for internet and registry clean up

Scanned computer with AV (but on a fresh factory setup I can’t see if there would be much)

Opened in Safe Mode w/ Networking (Booted in 30 secs)

Looked at Event Viewer and got “Critical” errors for Boot 100 and a few others (Boot 101, etc) but Boot
100 was the worst by far

I tried to find a new driver for my Toshiba hard drive that came with Acer but I’m at work and don’t have model # and I couldn’t find one without taking a risk and paying an unknown vender for a maybe will work driver

Ran chkdsk but it didn’t say anything other than what it did, no “no violations” or “violations”

Startup repair couldn’t “fix any issues automatically”

Did a test of memory through Windows but found no errors

Plus other attempts to fix, too many to actually remember but I’m sure my memory will return if you mention it!

Most of this happened after I shut it down and it did a Windows update if that helps, I think I heard that was the problem sometimes.

Again thanks for any help you might have.

Oh, and I ran chksk but also ran sfc / scannow and I it was the one that didn't say anything about violations or not, just info on what it would do.
