for the best 3 days my laptop takes over 1 minute to shut down.

before it only takes about 3 seconds. boot up takes about 15 secs.

"clear page file at shut down" is at 0
"WaitToKillServiceTimeout" is at 2 secs.

Booted in safe mode and it shut down like normal in 2-3 seconds.

so people say that it might be in the drivers, windows 7 must have installed a driver during updates. but i'm checking the updates history, there's nothing in there.

i don't know what to do now....HELP plz!!!

Sounds to me like a application is hanging
Try killing everything in your tray before shutting down and see if the problem resolves.

I doubt it's a driver issue, it would be showing in other places not just during shutdown.
Sounds a lot more like a software problem.

I will say that I run steam and I found that shutdowns took a lot longer if I didn't shutdown steam first, then perform the system shutdown.

man i love this forum, people reply right away! thanks for the reply.

so i thought to myself let me restore my laptop back before the last software installed (biometric fingerprint).

and BAAAMMM that was it! now its back to 2-3 seconds shut down!

i'm going to test it to see if it is really is the software, by reinstalling it again and see.

It's even possible it's a specific option within the related software it's hard to know.
Glad you are getting it sorted though.
