Slow USB Transfer Rate on Desktop but not Laptop - Both Windows 7

I remember seeing that option before in my BIOS but I recently updated it to the latest version and I cannot find it anymore. I also updated my chipset but I still the same problem.

I think Im about ready to give up and just get an usb extension from the back of my motherboard and bring it out

I'd argue it's the most plausible explanation and warrants your more detailed investigation.

The latest BIOS is not always the best one. If I load the latest BIOS for my board it won't boot with the DIMM's which I have onboard, although - ironically... the latest BIOS was written to enhance memory support!

I'd roll back to the BIOS which allowed you USN ports control, but only after first thoroughly checking every option in your present BIOS to disable the selective USB port blocking.

I'm sorry, but I'm almost convinced it's a setting in those slective USB ports on that board.

Without experience of that particular hardware I can't help much further... :o
