slow video?

Hi,

My Win7 does that real slow YouTube thing then when the red line is complete / vid downloaded, plays fine but why can't i play web videos straight off like i used to on XP?

Streaming video from the web is dependent on the speed of your internet connection...the lower your speed, the more problems you are going to have streaming.... Your only option is to contact your ISP provider for a faster connection...

get as far as "Select Manage network connections." then the trail goes cold - this category is not listed under my Control Panel. Don't like the look of those re-set digits either

My broadband is this:"Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet" ISP AOL ~ is there a chance upgrading to a faster level might improve the YouTube?

have already re-installed the latest Adobe Flash

you can test your net connection at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

faster net, more money...it's simple as that mine is not from the faster or more expensive ones

The lower the value, the less data gets streamed, so the smoother the video.

When watching the video on Youtube, look at the lower-right section of the video window. There you see standard 360p and next to it an right-down arrow. These are the lowest settings. Try to experiment with those.

this i did - there were 2 options - but neither had any effect

FLASH automatically determines DSL speed but many other players allow you to select a slightly lower speed than your pc is capable of - this can improve video stability (download) at presumably the loss of some quality: i still don't know how to watch You Tube through other players though, like QuickTime.
