Hi, just to let you know I've sorted the problem and installed a wireless USB stick (thought these were only for laptops), and for only £15, thought it was a bargain..! Thanks for the help..!

Dell Optiplex 9030

So I purchased a Dell Optiplex 9030 and wanted to migrate my SSD from my old system to the new Dell. After some help from this Forum I was successful. Obviously I had a lot of drivers to download. At the end of the day, only issue I have is a '!' next to the SM Bus Controller in Device Manager. I can download the chipset driver from Dell for my system and the issue in Device manager goes away. A new issue arises however. I get a constant beeping of the Device Disconnect (and to a lesser extent Device Connect). Very annoying. PC seems to run fine but I would like to get it right. Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, not having the SM Bus Controller recognized solved the problem for a while. Noticed this AM that I'm still getting the beeps even though I've not installed the chipset driver. Seems like something else must be causing the issue.

As respects the Dell Drivers mentioned in the response, I did install the items listed thouth not necessarily in the order shown. Can this cause an issue. PC will also not enter sleep mode. Suspect whatever is causing this may be the root of my problem

Dell state that Drivers should be Installed in correct order if not some Devices may not work proper ..

I would make a new Thread regarding your sleep issue ...

I think that I have spent more time resolving issues than I would have had I kept the Dell drive in the system and reinstalled all of my software. I think that I will reinstall that drive, reinstall my software tand then clone it to my SSD. A lot of work but hopefully it will fix my issues. Thank you for your help.

SM Bus controller driver for Hp 280 G1 MT

Hello
I have HP 280 G1MT and I did clean install windows 7 64-bit. The SM Bus controller driver shows missing in device manager. I t did not update through Windows update and the Hrdware ID which I found though properties of device is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C22&SUBSYS_2B34103C. I also tried look through HP website HP 280 G1 Microtower PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP(R) Customer Support.
