Asus Smartdoctor will not install and it is driving me mad ,so much so that I keep going back to Vista just for some peace,because of the noise of the fans on my cards,they work great in Vista but not in Windows7.I only use it to turn down the speed of the fans which is not noisey when I do so Anybody manage to install Smartdoctor?.

Have you tried installing with compatibility mode for Vista to see if that helps or have you looked for another program that you can control the speed with?

Tried all the usual stuff no joy ,the program installs no bother and it goes into it's normal spot in the all programs section but when windows starts up I get this error message
Can not load EIO.DLL, And the fans on the cards stay up at 100% by the sound of them.

You could check your BIOS for settings for Fan Control, I think there's an option for auto/manual thing in there.

Hi To all First it is my first post so i hope this will help many peopple as i also got the same error like other EIO.Dll not found or loud etc...thay way to get solved the problem is do as i write down i make the same and volla its work now find ....

Solution:
Search the registry for eio.dll

The first reference to it will have some nonsensical key name and the following value:
C?\Program Files\ASUS\SmartDoctor\EIO.dll

OR

​

C?\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\SmartDoctor\EIO.dll


Fix this typo to fix the problem (Replace the ? with a : )

go to windows button open run and write there regedit and then Enter...

he will ask you to run as a Admin say yes after this ....go to registry Editor menu tab Edit ( Click on Find and copy or write this C?\Program Files\ASUS\SmartDoctor\EIO.dll --- and then find click....wait and he will show you this file...

Did you find the key that "stayinheaven" was talking about?
Or are you having problems finding it still?

There are known issues wth some Asus utilities and Win7 and you may have to wait until Asus updates their utilities. This is a beta OS after all, but I feel your pain..

Hi,I got it to work in the 7000 version using compatability mode eventually after many attempts,but it doing the exact same thing on me again in 7048 and I just haven't got it in me at the moment to start fighting with it once again ,meaning installing /uninstalling blah blah,now I see the registry key that Stayinheaven, is talking about,but mine already has the semi colon after the drive letter,but it does not say EIO.dll at the end of it, H:\Program Files(x86)\Asus\SmartDoctor\ is all it says.?

Look in that file it points too, H:\Program Files(x86)\Asus\SmartDoctor, and see if that file even exists.

Ok i find other way as we all want to use the SmartDoctor from Asus and as we all now there is no any update from asus that work on w7Beta...

i find the other soultion that work fie´ne for OC and fan ....just download this file from EVGA and install before you install this file uninstall SmartDoctor and GameOSD and clean your register with CCleaner or what ever you use to clean regist.....

just download and install and you are good to go. i use this now too and work fine from me now i can also make higher OC 852 core adn on SmartDoctor i just can make 755 anway it other topic...

as i say uninstall asus SmartDoctor & GameOSD and clean regist and then install this
EVGA Precision 1.5.1

Hi,I tried that as well, and it doesn't seem to work either ,when I try to launch the program I get the following,by the way I have ATI graphics cards not Nvidia,so I just tried the riva Turner to see if it would work I think that only works for Nvidia ,correct me if I am wrong,I shall keep on trying anyway and Thanks for your help.

Haha....nowonder when its not work i mean Asus Smart Doctor as its only compatabel with asus and nvidia chip card same for EVGA Precision 1.5.1.....

go there and download the driver for your ATI card.. Drivers & Tools | GAME.AMD.COM


still you are on same place like before ...

then i must say to you please give us info of your RIG (computer)

like mainboard graphic Card etc.....

then we can or i can better see the problem i mean where the problem is like this its hard to say as i know i am not the only one other also understand first that you got Nvidia card but now i know and maybe other too that you are using the ATI card...

so please infrom as some infoe from your system...

i have that problem too but i think i know how u can get it to load

press F8 and disable the driver signature enforcment

SD runs ok but u get gamesOSD error
