This looks very interesting, although not surprising given that smartphones have been rolling out with 2 GB of RAM, and if I'm not mistaken they are not too many years off from 4 GB then presumably more.

LOL 64 GB SSD? By that time it'd probably be at least 128 GB. Some smartphones already have a 64 GB version. Well, a smartphone essentially is a pocket sized computer that has a cell phone component attached to it. So, I see nothing wrong with advances in that area, just as what has been happening for so long with PCs.

Also, I highly doubt Intel is going to be very successful in the mobile CPU market given that TI, Samsung, Qualcomm (Snapdragon), and nVidia (with the Tegra line) are already in that. Although a few phones have released with Intel Atom CPUs running Android, I think. Quad-core CPUs have already made their way into some Android phones.

Highly doubt that and if it does then this will be decades from now and pcs will be about 5 times stronger or more.

The SIII has a Cortex-A9 based Exynos 4412 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, that said mobile processors don't run at their maximum speeds. Their clock speeds vary depending on the load on the system so they won't run at full speed.

It doesn't really matter if 64-bit ARM SoCs are introduced since none of the current mobile OSes have 64-bit kernels, not even Android.

Yes but they will in the future as Mobile Phone RAM Increases Past 4gb

and the original S3 CPU is clocked at 1.6 so no real loss, and if you root you can go past that by overclocking. Thats what i done with my Galaxy Ace 2

QNX does, and by extension Blackberry 10 can.

And I believe the Darwin kernel in the iOS devices can be ported easily, as it's essentially the same core in the 64 bit Mac laptops and desktops.

a bit off topic but why do dual cores over clock better than 8 cores(using 8350 as an example) They need to run it in dual core mode to reach world records, why is this?

The design problem is all about power and heat. The more cores and higher frequency takes more power and produces more heat. To run higher frequency you need to turn off some cores to reduce the heat and power draw.
