So... do I install Win7 build 7000 or 7022?

Since 7022 was leaked, I'm kinda hesitating between 7000 and 7022. I'll be switching over Win7 for a 2nd time and I want to install a build that everyone suggest to.

So, your thought?

P.S I'm on Vista until next Monday, so you have time.

Personally, I would stick to the official build 7000 release. Unless Microsoft decides to release through legitimate channels any of the other builds that are alleged to exist, I, for one, will not install them. I certainly wouldn't download them from a torrent site. My gut feeling is that the next official release will be RC1, and that is the one that I shall be installing when Microsoft releases it.

I'd go w/7022. People were saying the same stuff about b7000 until it turned out the iso on torrents was "IDENTICAL" to microsoft's "OFFICIAL" release two weeks later. It does appear to have picked up some bugs, however.

I would stick to the official version - for one very very important reason.

As 7022 is probably an internal Microsoft build, never intended for use outside of M$ it is likely to have certain functionality not available with relation to updates and bug fixes - this has already happened with earlier leaked builds, this type of support is essential with a Beta build - in my opinion

Whats the big deal about installing Build 7022 and all the "should I's/no you shouldn't"????

Dual boot or put it on another system. Take it for a spin and live a little, maybe learn a little. All these builds are not a life long commitment and are FOR TESTING. Its not like you have to decide which one to buy and your stuck with it. ITS FREE.

I dont get it. Who cares if it breaks or cant be fixed (doubt it) you always have Build 7000 to fall back on. I installed 7022 and its working great. No issues yet, and if there is I dont care, its not my main OS. I have my favorite laptop(files backed up) with build 7000 as my main OS and no regrets.
Where is your adventurous side?????. Its windows 7.

my recomendation is an updates gonna come out soon just wait till it does, that way you can be sure its functioning the "best" it will

I like build 7022, firstly it is more recent (made about a week after the release of 7000) and has the mp3 bug patched already (one less thing to do when installing), it has the new IE8 RC1, and some other stuff....

Thew only strange thing that has happen (bear in mind i was playing around with system files) is this:

But i soon resolved it and got rid of the "Test Mode" after a bit of digging around...

Oh and the clock gadget is oversized compared to 7000 and the other gadgets which i did not like...

If the releaser you get it from is a well known uploader and you know you can trust his stuff, why not try it out on another partition for awhile.
Myself, I haven't even looked for it and probably won't for awhile yet. 7000 is working well and right now I just don't have a spare partition lying around...and I have 1 1/2 TB's already carved up into 13 partitions..!!! (I seriously gotta clean things up some)
I've got lotsa space still but nothing Unallocated and I don't want to shrinking things and go making new ones and then resizing this & that to do whatever..

btw, I downloaded the beta in the first days in January and even got a unique serial key (with the F5 trick, remember?) and I still have the 10 public keys

From what I know, 7022 is only 32bit. That might help your decision. I did install it on my older computer as an upgrade and it seems to be running fine. Hopefully it has the same August kill date as 7000.

These are 'interim' builds, not released to public, not meant to be used by the public, and particularly, not suitable for 'general release'.

This board (and any other for that matter) could become very confused with people's issues regarding Windows 7 faults, if we were all using different builds, especially ones which have obviously been leaked.

We all need to be on the 'same' level here, if were to test and iron out Windows 7's faults/bugs before RC1, surely?

Since 7022 is a later release than 7000, of course its a release coming from within Microsoft.

It's not something that some user tweaked and released as a later version.It has been tested, re-furnished, checked and released to the public "off the record", like the 7000 was before it was announced an official beta.

Therefore, I'd go with 7022 as well, since after the beta, more releases will come out providing fixes, enhancements and improvemets based on the feedback of the previous versions.This build is one of them.

Now if you're not curious of what's new in every release, you could just sit back and enjoy the 7000 until August. As for me, I'm gonna test every single new release and enjoy the new features , even it's a 0001 subversion different.

I've never seen anything newer being worse than the older so far...only better.

edit: btw, the BETA keys provided by microsoft work with 7022 like they work with 7000.

I never said this board was free support for Win7, but its definitely not true that this is just a discussion board.......so......

When someone requires help/assistance as regards anything Win7, we have to 'hope' whatever version they are using, is the same as the person trying to assist with the problem? Which of course, may not exist in future builds, because it has either been rectified and/or made worse?

If that's the case, fair enough, then 'tagging' posts beforehand would help:
