So, should I install official RC or build 7600.16384?

Well paesan, OP did not ask about upgrade or clean install. He wanted to know which build he should install. :)

Sven, I know. By my comments it is clear that I would recommend to install 7600. In my opinion, seeing an OS is easy to install, why wouldn't one want to use the most recent version. Bandwith speed and caps are the only thing I can think of why one would not want to use the most recent version.

Just finished installing 7600. No huge differences between my 7100, only the wallpaper ( the visible differences ), but I will use for a while and report.

Yes please do Bassman. I've got the 7600 burnt to disk but nobody seems to be talking about it since it seems it's not the RTM and comments I have read have been neutral at best if not negative.
I can't decide whether to bother with it so a report from someone coming from the RC would be useful.

Cheers, John:)

7600 x64 is running pretty damn good! Same as 7232 did.
After clean install no yellow or red marks in device manager so I guess all my hardware's drivers are included on this build.
Install took 15gb hard disk space.
No new wallpaper. No expiration date. No watermark.
Cheers.

My first build!
yeah because you did the unofficial way of upgrading from build to build within Windows 7. On a clean install you cannot activate the RTM candidates with RC keys, different activation keys and servers.
Not the case. I used an unmentionable script from an unmentionable source. Initially, I did an inplace upgrade from 7232 to 7264, but initialized the disk and went clean when other activation attempts loused up.

Same here - my favorite build so far, by far. Even with a new leak I may actually stick with this one until the official Oct release.

Edit:

From 7100 there are some big changes, including in network discovery and behavior, much better driver compatibility, performance enhancements, etc.

Coming from 7232, two nice ones for me are better dual monitor behavior in two apps I run, and the fact that restoring open folders at logon no longer makes Win Explorer go postal. So yes, there are good improvements.

I wouldn't suggest using a rc as a main os, but to each his own i suppose.

Not a bad idea if your testing, and or experience no issues with your main functions.

I had 7264 activated. It was my 5th or 6th install of Win7 builds. I had virtually no issues, certainly no showstoppers.

I just installed 7600 - clean, no WAIK. IE8 issues galore. Mouse issues. Buzzing sound. I will spend about 15 more minutes trying to isolate and solve, but I see 7264 in my future.

Bassman, read the forum. Click Search if necessary. But, no.

I installed 7600 on my other computer and my sound, and network cards were not detected. After some fooling, I got the sound to work, but network card was not installing even after using some vista driver I had found. I may move from 7100 to 7264 however as it seems stable from what people are saying.

Not right off the bat - first you try. But it works a lot better than my original XP x64 SP1 (of which I still have an image :)), so yeah, it's my main and working OS :D, to my pleasant surprise.

I've had a great experience with all the RC builds I've installed but 7600 is the best for me so far and I see no reason to install anything prior, unless you need to legally activate and run it past the date of general availability of the real RTM.

RC and now possible RTM builds have been my primary OS for many months now and they've all been far better in every way than Vista SP2 for me on my particular rig. Vista just never worked great for me, but I had a lot of OEM bloatware on my Vista install.

For me 7600 is running great and I look forward to upgrading to the final real RTM build and activating with legal keys to be received from TechNet.
