So what do you think of Lance Armstrong?

He's innocent until proven guilty.. that's the law.
People for some reason, love to help people asend to great heights.. then knock them off the ladder.
I don't get this , he still WON those races.. no one can take that away, they can take the medals,
but he won those races fair and square at the time they took place.. now years later,
someone wants to de-throne him by word of mouth.
This is my opinion.

I think you could say that for most sports. If you are not an enthusiast, it does not mean much to you.

The Tour de France is the toughest sports event on earth and has the most on-site spectators (20 million). In view of that, the bikers earn very little money. If they would play football (soccer), they would earn 10 times as much.

Well stated.

The Federal Grand Jury that was presented all evidence in the case returned no indictments for ANYTHING!

All you need for grand jury indictment is enough evidence that maybe a law was broken.

When that failed the USADA pulled his championships.

No evidence? Why have members of his team been banned -

Video - Lance Armstrong -- Physicians, Trainer from Former Team Banned from Olympics - WSJ.com

You really think that they were using the drugs themselves? Get real! Plenty of winners of the TDF have been dethroned because they were found to have taken drugs - you think an American is somehow immune or because he is a cancer survivor? Yes, let us wait for the evidence - they didn't contest the charges ...

I guess testing his Bike for Performance Enhancments is out lol

If anyone on here ever Rode a bike for weeks on end or even more it takes Endurance to ride you would think of all the years of training and riding one wouldn't need a extra boost from anything

I really think he won on his own and as far as the trainers etc being Banned it was probally due from not wanting to testify

People get screwed not only for doing the wrong thing but also not going along with politics which this seems to be a serious case of Politics some Jerk decided that this has to happen when there is nothing to prove

Like I said many post ago there just wasting our money for nothing when they can be helping people do something usefull

This is a sport not a WORLD changing event people need to get there Priorities straight and put money where it need to be

seems the Government makes up sensless jobs that have no meaning while other people are on the street starving go figure

I will wait on the "evidence". So far there is NONE that has come out. Where is this "evidence". Do you have any?? You seem to make a lot of statements but you have shown no proof. The old saying "Put Up or Shut Up" applies.

Jim

No evidence? Why have members of his team been banned -

Video - Lance Armstrong -- Physicians, Trainer from Former Team Banned from Olympics - WSJ.com

You really think that they were using the drugs themselves? Get real! Plenty of winners of the TDF have been dethroned because they were found to have taken drugs - you think an American is somehow immune or because he is a cancer survivor? Yes, let us wait for the evidence - they didn't contest the charges ...

NO evidence against Armstrong. If my friend robs a bank does that make me a bank robber also? Just because you THINK he is guilty does not make it so.

Jim

Well they appear to think they have evidence - from 2009 and 2010 blood samples I think as well as testimony from others involved. I doubt USADA would ban him and wish to remove his TDF wins on less than reliable evidence. Perhaps we should just wait and see.

;)  :( :sarc: :D

Yes why not - those who are the richest and can afford the best chemists and those who can provide the best training - why shouldn't the richest nations lord it over the rest? Is there a flaw here perhaps? The UK recently showed that if you throw enough money at performers then medals follow - perhaps this is OK but it hardly seems fair to me and the drugs issue makes it even less fair. The TDF has always it seems had problems with drugs and the cyclists are some of the best and fittest of all in sport so it might just be better if no-one used the drugs and then it really would be a better race. As a cyclist who has been over many of the TDF mountain stages I know something of what it takes and to maintain this effort for three weeks. Drugs in any sport just leave a bad taste as does any cheating.

:( :)
