software downloads

every time i i download a piece of software i cant find it to install,have to go into start run for setup,it will not go into downloads or put an icon on the desktop,im using firefox and whatever i set it to download to it ignores my instructions

Try disabling FF when downloading software. After it is downloaded turn FF back on.
