Hi,

I am having problems when the computer (which is connected to a domain) is skipping through the software installation on startup. In this case, there are fails being displayed in the Event Viewer that the software installation deployment was not complete on to the client.

Is there a way to fix this, apart from disconnecting and connecting from and to the domain.

Many thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,
Sounds to me like there's a group policy rule thats stopping the install.
Can you post the error code from the event viewer.
And as a back-up a copy of the last day of the WindowsUpdate log.

Just going to say Roy,

We have more than one computer that doesn't have this issue. 1 out of 7 (including the server) computers have this problem.

But I will give you a quick snip of the Event Viewer later. ;)

Cool,
Can i see a copy of the server, and one of the children.
If the server is having a prob so will the children, the general rule applied is to send the updates once the Server "happy", i wouldn't expect it to download fails!

I have fixed the issue myself, it was something to do with the server and not the computer.

How did I fix the problem?
I figured the problem out myself by saying that the server was looking at the old folder path reading "\\SERVER\software$", I have cleaned quite alot in the 'software$' folder is to add two new folders to keep it tidy which is called 'EXE Files' and 'MSI Files'. Now I have to configure the path of where the MSI's are located in the software installation properties to "\\SERVER\software$\MSI Files" so that the server can read it properly in the CORRECT folder to where all MSI Installations are, but the only to do is to re-install all the software again from the new folder and deploy.

After that has been done, I then go to the computers and do a "gpupdate /force /boot" on the cmd prompt and this took effect after rebooting. Then it worked! :D
