I use Acronis. With ATI there is a feature called "Try and Decide". I use Try and Decide and find it extremely handy. It loads you OS disk into a VHD and lets you make changes to your system (install, uninstall etc.) then when you close it you have the option to save or discard the changes. Does any one know of software that does the same thing? I find ATI "buggy" and has been for me since 2009. But I don't want to give up Try and Decide. I prefer not to load another backup app along side of ATI. For instance Macrium which I really prefer for my needs.

Hi Hammerhead,
I use Acronis TIH 2010 ad never use Try & Decide. Instead, before doing any testing or experimenting, I do a 'One Click' backup. On my setup it takes 7 minutes to backup, restores are done faster. Using this method, I don't need a Secure Zone, as I have only a small hdd.

Yep

Roderunner:

I am doing the same method as you roderunner. But Try and Decide is so slick I use it occasionly also. It works great. I was just exploring my options.

HH, do you realise these are the best 2 ways to ensure all residue is removed after uninstalling, plus Sandboxie.

Zilch

Using one of these two methods leaves ZERO changes. I have used try and decide and made an install and created a file that I wanted, saved it to a non operating disk (storage), discarded the changes and I had the file I was after.
