Software to erase SSD

Hi there,

looking for some advice, can anyone recommend software that will erase a SSD, need it to fully erase and not a low level format.

Interested to know what success people have had with what software, if there are any open source softwares that do this job.

I've used Parted Magic (freeware) to do a secure erase & return performance to the SSD.

Runs at boot up. Corsair recommend doing it this way. Takes under 5 minutes.

The clean all command in DISKPART is more than sufficient to securely wipe an SSD - see method 2 here:

Hipster.... a friend had apparent probs using this? would not erase the SSD which is OCZ SSD

Golden.... is your way just a simple format, can data be recovered by using this method?

A secure erase or more commonly referred to as a wipe is a way to over-write all existing data on a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) / Solid State Drive (SSD) with at least one set of binary zeroes ( 0 ) or ones ( 1 ) so the data cannot be retrieved.

cheers seavixen, if that method is just as effective as using parted magic and erases and brings full performance back to the SSD then I will use that method
