Hi

After a routine update my second internal IDE hard disc drive disappeared. Even after the machine was completely turned off and restarted the OS wasn't detecting the second hard drive.

I rebooted again, this time going into the BIOS to check the statistics for the 'slave' drive.
I saw that the setting for "32 bit data transfer" had been disabled.
After changing that setting the second drive was detected and was accessible again.

(I'd mark this 'solved' but there's no green checkmark visible on my menu.)

Cheers
