Some games in steam showing corrupt download!

recently i tried to download garrys mod. on 92-99 percents, hdd load are dropping to zero, network remains active and suddenly there is a red text saying CORRUPT DOWNLOAD. should i maybe try 3rd party steam client orrrrr my windows 7 is not even a main problem???

I'm not sure if it's related but Steam doesn't support 7 anymore. I'm surprised it even let you install it.

I had this problem too a couple months back. It's not fixable, it's because Steam released an updated download verification step or something that doesn't work on Windows 7 since Valve assumes you cant use Steam on Windows 7 anyways. Unfortunately from what I've found there is no fix for this. Also don't expect Valve will even care to fix this as right now Steam on Windows 7 can only be run with workarounds Steam doesn't condone or support in any fashion. I think if you can get versions from 2023 you will be able to download them and you will as a bonus have Theme support ( 2023 versions are the last to use VGUI and not CEF thus supports themes.) If you get any success with that please inform me as I'm interested to fix this problem too

You can install it fine, and you can easily trick it to run with "-no-cef-sandbox" in Shortcut Target. Of course, Steam does not condone it. Steam assumes you can't get the program to even load, not knowing it takes a tiny workaround.
