I know I always post these new threads and most likely the questions have allready been asked, and sometimes I get good answers, but yeah, here are my questions.

1.What is the latest and greatest ssd's

(I did some research on them and found that the iops are more important for ssd when used as os boot drives then the write and read speeds, then I saw a few reviews and people said then that the intel ssd's were the best for boot drives, and ocz vertex 2 were a close second. Personally I would like a ocz vertex 2, but if the post were all kinda old, and saw on a online store you can buy adata sata3 6g/s ssd's for the same price as other model sata2 ssd's. And I know sata3 is better than sata 2, I can't seem to find reasonably priced sata 3 ssd's other than adata where i'm from, unless some of the other South-African mates can correct me on this. Oh and I only need 60g, saw a bunch of reviews that I agree with that said paying more for 60gigs are a waste of money WHEN USING IT ONLY AS A BOOT DEVICE.)

2.And I know this is a very stupid one but I have 2 6g/s western digital hdd's and I heard that raiding 2 hdd's increase the performance, space(logically) and a hole lot of pro's. No one seems to say anything bad about raid. So my question is how to raid, and what are the cons?

3. And this is just something I wondered, if you sli must both gfx be the same make? I know about that they have 2 be both like 570 or both 580's, but what about 1 evga and 1 asus, or like one club3d an one inno 3d ect.

4. Apparently 2 gtx580's need 850 psu,but I personally have sli'd cards the said they needed for example 500 psu for sli, and I ran sli with say 450, and a few people told me that nvidia say sli setups needs more power than they really do, so my question is, that Nvidia says 2 gtx 580's need 850 psu,but can I sli with just 800psu? The previous time I did sli was with 2 7900's,and that was were I used a smaller psu than they suggested, but don't know if I can do the same with some big gtx 580's...

Your professional input will be appreciated. thanx

Let me try to answer your point #1. For a boot drive, it is pretty unimportant which SSD make you buy. They all have access times around 0.1ms and that is what counts. The data rates, whether in 3Gb/sec or 6Gb/sec are pretty unimportant since the system does nor R/W a lot of data and that only in 4K and 8K blocks which work with a LOT slower transfer rate than the maximum quoted by the manufacturer (see chart below).

And yes, a 60GB drive is sufficient for the system provided you do not have too much user data or you move the user folders to a HDD.

As far as manufacturers are concerned, it is hard to say which is better. The technology is too young to have a vast number of statistical data regarding the lifespan of the devices. They say that Intel is good. But who knows. I have two Intels and three OCZ Vertex and they all work well. But there are other good makes - e,g, Crucial or Patriot.

Thanx mate, so I don't need to get a 6g/s ssd? If that is the case then I am going to get the ocz vertex 2.

I would buy whatever is cheapest. And the Vertex2 is a fine SSD. The performance you see above. The OS makes little use of the advanced R/W speeds of some of the most recent models.
