Yep me too can't see it happening in say government departments for example and for me those mobile things are just toys and very sneaky way of getting your very last dollar out of you.

The numbers vary from report to report but it's very clear the PC market has reached it's peak and is now declining, the portable PC market is experiencing exploding growth.

Yes I agree madcrater but so will the earths population - it isn't as if the few that are here now are going to dump computers desk or laptops in favour of the mobile crap that is now going round.
I really don't get the point of all that rubbish it is mainly aimed the young and trendies and the mainstream of serious computing I think will carry on it has to as the waste of what is in place now even if we all were to want to go down that track is mind bogglingly sick.

That's what the Dinosaurs thought too.

Desk tops are not going away but the development is slowing down. All things computer related well countinue to shrink in size and increase in capability. 8 core cell phones are around the corner.

Well I am one dinosaur who isn't going down that track I'm afraid. I cannot for the life of me see why they need to have eight cores for example I can only think it is for the benefit of the mindless masses who spend most of their day staring at tiny screens in oblivion.:sarc:

My eyes are too old for those tiny screens. The demand is for the power and communication capability of a desk top PC in a 6 oz pocket devise.

Yep you're right mate we could just spend all day listening to it and wondering what heck is on screen cos like you my eyes are not what they used to be either
