-if u install win 7 ultimate n, is there a way to upgrade it to ultimate (to have ie and wmp)
-if u want to install win 7 ultimate and u already have win 7 ultimate n (but also have dual boot xp on second hdd) is it enough to install as upgrade on the win 7 ultimate n and it will replace it in a good way
-what is the best adobe flash player to install on win 7 ult. 64 to run ie8 32
-does java work on win 7 ult 64?
-why win 7 does not list the cpu clock as the overcloacked speed (instead it will also list the default speed clock) in time xp list the default speed and overcloacked speed
-i have a wd velociraptor hdd 160 gb that should be fast, and using benchmark to check it under xp, vista in both 32 and 64 bit, i always get a very slower rate than what this hdd should get and even slower than older and slower hdd version, weird i know, but is it possible coz it is run as native ide, should i install it as ahci?

thanks in advance for all your help

1) If you can buy Ultimate N, you can find a copy of Ultimate - normal US version

2) Upgrading isn't recommended unless the system is fresh with little installed. Otherwise choose a flat format and reinstall.

3) It should - I don't use Java but x64 vista had no problem.

For the rest, that should be the 7 default, and your Velociraptor may need defragmenting and a chkdsk run.

2) ok, i'm in to reformat the drive where win 7 ult n is installed, but after that, i think i will have a problem of booting the previous xp os wich is on the other hdd, what to do in this case?

for the velociraptor, this problem is there since the first day i assembled my system, and since then i wonder for the slowness, i couldnt figure the problem, but i think u r saying that enabling ahci will not make the difference, if this is right, what do u think is the problem? any suggestions

If you have another hard drive, you shouldn't have any problems. Just choose the right hard drive during install. After 7, you'll probably kill XP anyway. As to the hard drive, set it to to native IDE. AHCI is for hotplugging hard drives. Try a different SATA controller on your hard drive.

WMP is available for separate download:

I think that Win7 N was shipped with IE8. I'm not sure how to render it visible, but I'd start with the "Turn Windows Features On or Off" button in the Programs and Features control panel. (I'm in the USA. I thought that Europeans were supposed to see a Web browser selection screen during Windows setup.)

You shouldn't need to re-install Win7.

I don't know what the "best" flash player is. I use the plugin for IE8 X86 (32 bit) from Adobe (www.adobe.com). There is no plugin for the X64 version. (Win7 includes both X86 and X64 versions of IE8.)

Java works fine on Win7 X64. You'll need separate plugins for the X86 and X64 versions of IE8. (Both are available from www.java.com.)

Why does Win7 list both the rated clock frequency and the actual overclocked one? I don't care.

I have a Velociraptor 300. There seems to be very little difference in perfomance benchmarks between IDE and AHCI modes. At the moment, I'm using AHCI mode, using the Microsoft drivers. (I've also used the drivers from Intel, for my Asus X58 mainboard.) I don't know what to expect for continuous data transfer speed for a Velociraptor 150 as compared to 7200 RPM drivers with higher platter densities. The Velociraptor should have shorter seek times, though, due it its faster head positioning mechanism.
