I have been using the same Windows Live email address since I got my computer in 2006. In the past few months I've been getting emails for a different person. I know her name but not how to contact her. I've been replying to the emails to notify the senders about the issue. Any ideas how someone else could register the same email address as mine?

I would not bother trying I would just block all the addresses that send to her, It's easy to do just click and put a checkmark on the email's and one of the options that appear is to block that email, I always treat unsolicited email's as spam and I don't reply to them

There are many email address spoofers out there, so, as the previous poster advised, do not reply to or forward any such email.

Thanks for your responses.
I am getting some junk email for her but some are legitimate emails like receipts for online purchases and a survey about a medical procedure she had.
I was wrong about the date that I established the email account. It was in 2009.

it also could be that she knew your email address and used it for things she signed up to places or just made up an email address that happens to be yours.

Is there a profile associated with the (her) account? Can you log on as her and see it? Does the account require a password for logon? If so, change it.
