Something about UAC

Is there anyway i could enable one program to be ignored by UAC? Because right now I'm using Microsoft Sidewinder x6 keyboard but however those programs or games that needs "administrator rights" to run it, the macro keys and media keys are unable to be used. Is there any other way besides disabling UAC?

Thanks for the fast reply but it still didn't work as i don't really know what thing it is using to run the macro keys. I tried all the applications in the keyboard's folder.

go to Start-> Control Panel-> User Accounts-> you will get one of the Options as Change User Accounts Control Settings
Click it and then
Windows UAC settings have a slider to change between different notification levels. You can choose one from the following four options:
o Never notify
o Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop)
o Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer
o Always notify
I will recommend choose Never Notify, the advantage is this option will give you all the administrative rights to the computer.. test it you will feel good as you will get rid of all this what is happening to you at this point of time

Unfortunately there is no other way and as far as my Knowledge is concerned, UAC does nothing but removes all your rights to your computer, so take my advice and disable it, its not going to affect your computer security...

Hello Elmo,

One thing you can try is to go into the program files folder and give yourself full control security rights to the program folder. This will sometimes cure UAC prompts which are caused by the application trying to write back to the program folder.

Unfortunately there is no other way and as far as my Knowledge is concerned, UAC does nothing but removes all your rights to your computer, so take my advice and disable it, its not going to affect your computer security...

Disabling UAC makes Windows 7 very insecure. So, the UAC slider should be set to the maximum value for safety.

UAC does not remove your rights to your own machine. It removes rights for OTHER people/processes to control your machine without your knowledge. It then asks YOU for permission to allow a program to act as an administrator if you have not set it up that way already.

It gives you MORE control over your computer than you had before.

Thats what i was saying fseal... But seems like pezzonovante needs more hands on experiance on Windows 7 and security roles as well
