Has anyone found any drivers that will work with slightly older Sony digital cameras , like the DSC-S30 and DSC-F505 ?
The Win XP USB driver from Sony will not work , even after Win 7 tries to install using recommended settings .

Are you sure you need any drivers, doesn't it just install them when you plug the camera in?

Mr. Grim.....No, it won't install a driver , not even the 1 direct from Sony ( it's the XP driver . ) Get message to contact manufacturer . It really surprised me that the driver was not in the Win 7 driver database , or in Windows Updates .

I suggest a card reader if your camera can't mount as removable storage.

Bye.

Old drivers still work on Windows 7... just try to find them extracted and then to run the setup file with the compatibility support. But still you may experience some issues. Expect blue screens because of the driver.

This is not specifically for Sony cameras, but I was able to get Windows 7 to see and recognize my old Canon G3 by changing the communications mode from "Normal" to "PTP".

Canon twain-type drivers worked only in Win XP and older, and would not install in Vista or Win 7. By changing the communications mode to PTP I can just plug the camera in to a USB port, Windows 7 recognizes it as a Canon G3 and I can download pictures from it now. See if there is a similar setting for the older Sony cameras...
