hey guys, I just upgraded my laptop from Win Vista to win7 home. I am having a problem with screen resolution.

I tried to manually go to nVidia and intel to install the drivers with no luck. I tried downloading the drivers for win 7, and as advised by other forums, download the driver for win vista... still no luck

I have two option in resolutions, 1024x768 and 800x600

Laptop: Sony Vaio VGN-SZ430N
Graphics Processor / Vendor: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 / Intel GMA 950 TurboCache supporting 128MB
Windows 7 *32 bit

Just came back from Bestbuy, and the guys over at Geek squad did everything that I basically did yesterday. he told me to file a request to make a driver for my laptop :sarc:, and that sony vaio laptops werent put together right for win 7

anyways, if anyone could help me with the resolution for my Vaio it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
SiFO

Did you try running Windows Update and downloading the driver there? Usually they provide one that will work...

Do you often say thank you by asking a rhetorical question? You could have easily accomplished the steps in torrentg's post in about 5 minutes not 5 hours, you also wouldn't need to deal with the black screen problem you have now.
