Sorry... I had to switch over to Win10

As many of you are die-hard fans of Windows 7 and so was I.
It is still the easiest to manage without MS creeping around every corner wanting to know what you are doing.

IE 11 I think was definitely on its way out and I had to use Google Chrome for browsing and that didn't freeze up like IE. One thing led to another and even many websites no longer supported the old IE 11.

No more Media Player for my OTA TV tuner card and had to buy the new software to support Win10
Had to switch to Win10 cause SlingTV didn't support Win7 but did Win10.

So now its been just over a month and actually installed the new EDGE Chromium which I'm slowly getting to use and actual like it. It is fast, no freezing up and uses a lot less memory than the others.

So to all my past Win7 friends here they say.

I would have thought, that even out in the wastelands of Arizona, you would have heard of Mozilla Firefox browser. EH?

I.E.? I dumped that turkey way back while Firefox was still in Beta Test Mode. Been using it exclusively ever since.

And, I found Google search to be just plain UNSAFE. So for a totally SAFE Search Engine, I use the 100% SAFE "Startpage.com". (actually, Startpage.com - The world's most private search engine)

For full media accessibility, I always install the "K-Lite Codec Pack, Mega".

I absolutely see NO reasonable reason to abandon Windows 7 for that horribly UN-SAFE Windows 10.

But I guess....to each his own.

Sound advice. Been there, done that. In fact I have just finished building a new PC to continue my love affair with W7 uninterrupted if my original PC goes belly up one day. If Seven ever becomes unsustainable I'll go with Linux.

The best way to run Windows 10 is by native booting from a VHD. Don't like any forced updates? It only takes 1 sec to delete that VHD file, 10 minutes to unzip the backup in its place. This is also y I love Win7 Ultimate so much. Any probs with the system and it only takes 15 minutes to restore the vhd to before state (compare having to spend hours reinstalling everything).

This free and practical way to test Windows 10 uses native boot VHD: Windows 10 - Test & Try with No Risk, No Install

Using it, Windows 10 is stored in a VHD file. At boot, you can select if to boot to Windows 7 on HDD or Windows 10 on VHD. When you no longer need Windows 10, just delete the VHD file.

I must confess that I changed 4 of my Windows 7 computers to Windows 10 on January 15 and one on January 16.


No serious problems.
