Sound channels reversed

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this.

I've been having a strange sound issue with Win 7. I'm using the HDMI output from my graphics card to send audio to my TV. The issue is that left and right audio channels are reversed! The TV works fine when the signal is coming from cable, it just doesn't work when coming from the computer.

Normally, I'd have no issue fixing this, but the audio control panel for my graphics card is extremely basic and there's no way that I can tell to flip the channels.

Any suggestions?

Hi, Ignignokt and welcome the Windows 7 Forums.

Can I ask what audio drivers/codecs you have installed?

Sure, I'm currently using the ATI HDMI driver that's included with the 9.6 driver package. That's the most current available. I haven't installed any other drivers yet, and the motherboards onboard audio is disabled in bios, so its just the video card's audio chip producing sound.

As for codecs, I also have CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) installed, Core AVC and AC3 Filter.

BUT, the problem was there before I installed any codecs or even the drivers. Sound was working out of the box, but backwards :P

Next question : Are you using the DVI to HDMI adapter that came with your card, or does your card have HDMI ports built in?

It's the adapter that came with the card. No, it doesn't have any built in HDMI ports.

Stupid question : The s/pdf connecter to the mother board is plugged in correctly ?
We had another poster on here that had the cable plugged in incorrectly.

Nevermind, your card doesn't need the cable.

You do have the latest drivers installed, correct?

Nah, that's not a stupid question.

The answer is that I don't have an spdif connector hooked up. I might be wrong, but I think its only nvidia cards that need that. As I understand it, in my case the video card isn't passiing audio through from the sound card, the video card IS the sound card. I have my motherboard's sound chip disabled in the bios.

I realized that after I posted. When you look in your playback devices console (Right click speaker icon, select Playback Devices), What is listed there?

It says "Realtek HDMI Output," and that it's an ATI HDMI device. There's only 1 entry.
