sound crysis

holo88

is a ****
i reinstalled Win7 earlier yesterday (i made a boo-boo) and do what i usually do and install all my drivers and apps. then move on to whatever games i feel like playing. so installed a few, Crysis being one of them.

I get a pretty decent frame rate considering i don't meet a few of the system requirements (as far as ram, and gfx card) but the last thing i expect is for the sound not to work. I'm using the latest video/mo-bo/sound drivers around. so i dont get it. the starting vids play a little choppy, and the menu stutters somewhat, but the audio works. it craps out as i get to the loading screen. that and i noticed that some of the scripting fails as well, e/g theres a guy that follows you in the begining of the game after you crash land. he just stands there with his thumb in his arse. a couple other little things like that.

i have the game updated to the latest version (1.2.1),
anyone know a fix, or can give me some pointers here?

thanks in advance

Try changing the sample rate in sounds. Right click sound icon then choose play back devices, under the properties of the sound you have set as default go to advanced where you will be able to change the bit rate. I had similar problems with COD 5 and managed to get it to work properly by trying different values.

Good luck.

By the way just in case your wondering if crysis works or not then yes it does, both crysis and crysis warhead work without problems.:)

NO S%#T! where do you think i got it :roflmao:

haha, that was pretty random.
anyway, i was able to get sound for a little while, by disabling my other audio devices. crapped out after a while.
i read that integrated devices can mess w/ sound cards. so shutting it off in the bios may help too. thanks for the help rst101, i'll be back with some results.
