Sound Dips.

Evening,

I got my Win 7 Home Prem working. I semi have my surround sound working and all is fairly well bar one annoying problem.

My sound keeps dipping.

I have winamp (64bit + not able to downgrade WMP12) happily churning out the sounds, then Steam/MSN/Windows will make a bong and dip the sound of Winamp then bring it back. It's a half second thing but getting lots of messages or errors leads to a lot of upping and downing of my sound and it's general annoying.

I check my audio options and there is the one that dips sound by X amount (under communication) but I have that set to "Do nothing" but I still get the audio dip.

Any ideas?

You can try setting to "no sounds" in the sound properties control panel under "sounds" tab which is right next to the communications tab, then use "sound schemes" to turn off Windows sounds. But that only turns off the Windows sounds completely.
