Sound does not turn down

My sound doesn't turn down when I have music playing, etc. I have a knob on my keyboard that controls the sound, so I just use that. When I turn it all the way down until the sound thing shows no bars, the music is still playing. I have to manually change the sound on the music player.


Seems everything is acting independently.
