If you go into device manager (right click my computer/properties/device manager) and uninstall your audio drivers and reboot Windows will reinstall them automatically for you. If that does not wok you can try what is below.

You can see what drivers you are using in device manager, but you probably have drivers from Realtek that you can get right here. If your still not sure tell me what motherboard you have and I will find it for you. If you do not know what motherboard you have then use CPUZ and it will show you.

The default drivers in Windows 7 should work, but installing them from Realtek will make sure you are up to date and will eliminate if bad drivers are causing your problems.

Yep I agree, grab the sound drivers from the manufacturers website (these may be newer releases than microsoft update). I'm presuming that you don't have the sound muted :)

Also right click on the sound icon on the taskbar and choose playback devices. Highlight your device and click on configure (if configure is greyed out, then check that the device is plugged in and/or has the correct drivers). Also click on the devices properties (when in playback devices) and then check the levels tab, ensure that the level is turned up.

Lastly, right click on the sound icon in taskbar and choose "volume control options", ensure that your sound device is ticked.

Good Luck!
