Sound is soft

I just tried out the media center but I noticed that when playing files the sound is soft. The media center splash screen is loud when I open the program but I have to turn the volume way up to have it play normal. When I use Media Portal which is almost the same as Media Center the volume is fine. I even tried uninstalling Media Portal just in case the codecs conflict or something. Is there a setting I have to change? I configured the audio in media center for 7.1 speakers.

Sorry I posted this in the wrong section. Mods can you move it to the Media Center section. Thanks.

I think so. I will have to try it again when I get home. All I remember was 50 was the max.
