Sound Problem!

I have 5.1 Audio Card SL-8866-SRD 5.1 PCI.I can watch DVD normally with 5.1 sound but when i play some music the sound get's out only from the 2 speakers and the sub.I want to get the sound to come out of all six speakers but it will still only be in two channel mode but i dont know how to do that can somebody help!

What are you using to play these songs? Also, where are these songs from?
This will help determine if the songs are able to be played.

Joker,
You need to know that all music is not designed to be heard through all the speakers.
(aka channels) A lot of DVDs are designed to take advantage of 5.1 surround sounds.
But in contrast, most music arent designed to take advantage of 5.1. Maybe just stereo? (Two Channels) So the most important element to know is the source you are trying to play? 1) Is the source I am trying to play designed to be in 5.1. 2) Does the device I am trying to play have the ability to read the codec?(aka 5.1 surround) and 3) do I have the device set properly for it to work?
